You can sell your cards to Spellbound.
Disclaimer
Spellbound works with our partners who develops software to evaluate the price of cards automatically. This evaluated price is known as the market price, and is the price we sell at.
We will buy-in cards at a percentage of this market price, this is known as the buy-in rate, the process of calculating the buy-in rate is also automated through our online trade-in tool.
The software utilised has been appraised by our team, who have background in software development, finance and TCG markets, and we are confident in its accuracy when evaluating card prices.
The market price and buy-in rate will not reflect peer-to-peer trade practises, or show vending trade practises. We kindly ask for your understanding that Spellbound is a incorporated business that has overheads which doesn't exist in other entities (such as VAT), therefore our rates will be different from individual vendors or local trading. However, our software gives you the following benefits
- We are completely transparent about our evaluation, our online tool shows a complete breakdown of the buy-in rate for each card and how much cash/credit you will receive on each card.
- Trade-in for credit scales. Our software applies its algorithm across all cards. This means if you find buy-in rate to be lower, then the prices of cards may also be lower on our platform. And vice versa. Therefore the relative value of credit trade-in is consistent.
How to sell to us
In-Person
You can sell us your cards in person! This is the recommended approach as it avoids any issues with postage, payment, and gives you a chance to discuss your options. Pop down to our store and show us what you got.
Please note that we will direct you to still use our online trade-in tool as it avoids any human mistakes with the evaluation process.
Online
Please use the online trade-in tool to submit your desired trade-in.
Our dedicated team will then inspect the submission. Once inspection has completed, we will inform you via email if we would go ahead with the trade-in, or if we require any additional information. We will also send instructions for you to send the card to us via postage (will be reimbursed).
Please note, we will inspect the cards upon receiving them before paying out. If there are any issues, we will contact you to settle. If no settlement can be made, we will send the cards back to you.
Once inspection of the cards is completed, we will payout the agreed amount to your account (Either your customer account for store credit or PayPal for Cash).
Please also note, we are indeed making the payout after receiving the cards, which is different to peer-to-peer trading where the purchaser pays for the card in advance. This is indeed to give the business more protection. We understand that it lessens the protection for you (the seller). But, since we are a brick-and-mortar store that is an incorporated business, we hope it will give you assurance if you chose to sell to us.
